Ina Garten is an acclaimed American cook book author for many decades. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa that began in 2002. Ina was employed in the White House as a writer of nuclear energy policies as well as the budget. Although she initially found the position intellectually stimulating and exciting, she soon became bored. Barefoot Contessa was then purchased. It took her 18 years to make the store extremely successful prior to selling it and grabbing a pen to begin writing her first book.
